Article IV
Because of the six foundational truths, when the Bible speaks about history or science, it is just as trustworthy and authoritative as when it speaks on spiritual and theological topics. And while the Bible is not a textbook on history or science, it is inerrant and authoritative in all areas that it touches.
Article V
God gave us the Bible as His special, divine revelation. Because He made us in His image, He communicated His special, divine revelation in a way that we can understand clearly, and He communicated it free from error.
Article VI
Because God communicated the Bible to us in a way that we can understand it, the only proper way to interpret Scripture is through literal grammatical-historical hermeneutics. There are no hidden meanings or codes that only certain initiated or enlightened people can understand, nor is there any need to allegorize or dehistorize any part, nor rely on ancient pagan or current worldly cultural concepts in order to understand God’s Word.
Article VII
The inerrancy of Scripture is the foundational fundamental doctrine of Christian faith, as all other fundamental doctrines of Christianity are based on Scripture. Therefore, if Scripture is not inerrant and thusly not containing truthful, divine authority, than we have no inerrant, truthful, divine authority for any doctrine. Thus, a proper understanding and affirmation of biblical inerrancy is essential for the Christian faith, for rightly and properly understanding the Bible, for rightly and properly applying biblical truth to ones life, and for rightly and properly teaching, preaching, and leading as a pastor, apologist, theologian, or Christian leader.
